KARACHI: Academic as well as former Karachi College Teachers’ (KUTS) Society head of state Dr. Shakeel ur Rehman Farooqui passed away on Monday.
His funeral petitions were provided at Masjid-e-Ibrahim at the College of Karachi (KU) and also he was hidden in the KU graveyard.
He is survived by a widow, a boy, and also a child. KU vice-chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood Iraqi has expressed sorrow for his demise.
Dr. Shakeel ur Rehman Farooqui was born in Hyderabad on July 20, 1960.
He studied at Sindh College Design College and did his matriculation in 1975 from the Board of Intermediate as well as Additional Education And Learning, Hyderabad.
Later on, he transferred to Karachi and completed his intermediate in 1978 from Federal Government National College.
He got a Bachelor’s degree level in taxonomy from the KU in 1983 and also was awarded a gold medal.
Dr. Shakeel ur Rehman Farooqui joined the KU as a lecturer in the division of genetics in March 1988, as well as was promoted to the setting of an assistant professor in October 1995.
He finished his Ph.D. from the College of Kansas in 1994 and also relinquished service on July 20, 2020.
During the last week of February, he evaluated positive for Covid-19 as well as was moved to a personal health center situated in Gulistan-e-Johar, where he made it through a number of cardiovascular disease.
He was then changed to another personal healthcare facility and also put on a ventilator as his wellness was not improving.
