At the very least 32 people were killed as well as 53 wounded when an explosion struck a Shia mosque in the Covering city of Kandahar on Friday, a medical facility representative told AFP.
” Thirty-two bodies and 53 wounded individuals have been offered our health center until now,” the paramedic in the southern city’s central medical facility stated.
The reason for the blasts was not right away identified, but it came specifically a week after a suicide bomb strike on Shia worshippers in the northern city of Kunduz, that was declared by the militant Islamic State group.
The surge caused hefty casualties, Interior Ministry representative Qari Saeed Khosti stated.
Khosti said authorities were gathering information of the surge.

” We are saddened to learn that a surge occurred in a mosque of the Shia brotherhood in the very first area of Kandahar city in which a number of our compatriots were martyred as well as wounded,” he stated in a tweet.
” Special forces of the Islamic Emirate have arrived in the area to determine the nature of the occurrence as well as bring the wrongdoers to justice.”
Pictures posted by reporters on social networks revealed many people apparently dead or seriously wounded on the flooring of the mosque.
An eyewitness told AFP he listened to 3 surges, one at the primary door of the mosque, another at a southerly area, as well as a third where worshippers wash themselves.
An additional witness stated three blasts rocked the mosque in the centre of the community during Friday prayers.
Nematullah Wafa, a former member of the provincial council, claimed the blast took place at the Imam Bargah and created heavy casualties but there was no instant verification of the variety of dead as well as injured.
