ATC rejects post-arrest bail plea of 4 lawyers who attacked IHC

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday turned down the post-arrest bond applications of four legal (IHC) representatives jailed for storming right into the Islamabad High Court on Feb 8. ATC Court Raja Jawad Abbas Hassan dismissed the bond applications of supporters Naveed Hayat Malik, Chaudhry Zafar Ali Warraich, Nazia Bibi and Sheikh Mohammad Shoaib.

IHC chief justice directs cops not to bug attorneys not involved in attack on court

Deputy Commissioner Hamza Shafqaat and also SSP Islamabad Mustafa Tanveer who appeared before the court “were incapable to clarify why the individuals associated with storming of the High Court have not been apprehended and instead those who are honorable members of the Bar having no interest in the case are being harassed,” Justice Minallah noted.

The court guided the authorities to perform an inquiry and send a joint record explaining on whose orders members of the bar not associated with the storming of the high court were harassed.
