On 27 November, Bakhtawar Bhutto-Zardari, the elder daughter of the murdered former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and former President Asif Ali Zardari, arranged an engagement ceremony at Bilawal Residence.
Contrary to previous speculations about Bakhtawar recreating the nikkah look of her late mother for her participation, another form of recreation took place. Bakhtawar posted a picture of the engagement ring she gave her fiancé to show the storey behind it on her Instagram on Sunday.
“My mother had her father’s wedding ring copied and made for my father when they got married,” she wrote. The bride-to-be said, “I had the same ring duplicated and made for Mahmood Choudhry,”
It had been speculated earlier that Bakhtawar would replicate the Nikkah look of her late mother for her big day.
A pink and green outfit with heavy work designed by Resham Revaj on her nikkah to Zardari had been modelled by Benazir. But Bakhtawar, on her engagement with Mahmood Choudhry, put on a tea pink lehenga, wrapped in a special embroidered shawl, courtesy of designer Nida Azwer.
