On Thursday, the Foreign Office (FO) denied the Indian government’s “baseless and fallacious propaganda” concerning the Kartarpur Corridor, adding that the Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (PSGPC) of Pakistan had also debunked the arguments.
The Indian government’s cynical propaganda is clearly an effort to malign the ‘Kartarpur Corridor’ project by projecting mischievous aspersions against the Sikh community ‘s aspirations and detracting attention from the reprehensible abuse of minority human rights in India, “FO spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said in a statement.”
#Pakistan categorically rejects India’s willful propaganda against Kartarpur Corridor.
The malicious propaganda is simply an attempt to malign the “Peace Corridor” initiative by casting mischievous aspersions against the interests of Sikh community.

India Today announced earlier today that Pakistan had shifted Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib ‘s administration and maintenance from the PSGPC, the official body of Sikh Pakistanis, to a non-Sikh body.
Such actions further reveal the truth of the Pakistani government and the high promises of its leadership to maintain and protect the religious minority communities’ rights and welfare, a statement said by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs.
In a statement issued shortly after, the FO spokesman said that, according to the Sikh code of ethics, the PSGPC remained responsible for carrying out rituals at the gurdwara.
Under the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), the Project Management Unit (PMU) was clearly formed to support the committee in this regard.
“Any insinuations about the” shift “of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib ‘s affairs from the PSGPC to the PMU are not only contrary to the facts, but are also intended by the Hindutva-driven BJP government in India to establish religious disharmony,” the FO spokesman said.
The Sikh community from all over the world continues to deeply appreciate Pakistan ‘s efforts to complete the project of the Kartarpur Corridor in record time and the excellent arrangements made to facilitate the pilgrims, the statement read.
“India will be well served not to feign misleading and sham fears about minority rights abroad, but to take action to defend its minorities and their places of worship,” he added.
