GILGIT: Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced that his attention will now be on the rule of law, because his entire focus has been on Pakistan’s economy for the past two years in order to “put it in the right direction.”
I would myself supervise the state agencies so that the country ‘s influential convicts seeking to blackmail [the government] are taken into the sphere of the law. In the coming days, you will see whose legs are trembling and whose forehead is sweating,’ Prime Minister Khan said while addressing Sunday’s Azadi Parade ceremony in connexion with Gilgit-Baltistan’s 73rd Independence Day in Gilgit.
Since the opposition was attacking the Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence chiefs, Mr. Khan said it showed that he had named the right people to the positions. “If these [opposition] thieves speak out against them, it means they [the leaders] are the right people,” he said.
“He lambasted the opposition parties for what he alleged was” attacking state institutions “and” promoting the myth of enemies. He said that “the language of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi” was spoken by those who wished “to undermine the army and the judiciary.”

He said the Modi government was the most extremist government in the history of India, as it followed the philosophy of Hindutva. He said they despised Muslims and Pakistan, perpetrating violence on innocent Kashmiri civilians, adding that Indian Muslims were targeted by the laws passed by the Modi government, the Citizenship Amendment Act and the National Registry of Citizens.

He said he had received congratulatory messages from all over the world about how Pakistan was doing after the incident in Pulwama. “But today he says Pakistan behaved out of terror, which was the foundation of Modi ‘s entire electoral campaign,” Mr. Khan said, responding to storeys about the comment made by PML-N chief Ayaz Sadiq.
And the whole aim behind this is to blackmail Imran Khan to send them an NRO (National Reconciliation Ordinance) and to disregard their stolen money. I want to tell my country today that these dacoits will never be forgiven by Imran Khan,’ said the prime minister.
“They are seeking to raise a single judge with the way they targeted the judiciary,” he said, adding that if those who have “fled abroad” are acquitted in corruption cases, then the judiciary is impartial, but when verdicts are given against them, the judiciary is incorrect [they claim].
Similarly, there is just pressure on the army so that we [the government] will pardon them, “said Mr Khan.” For a nation to preserve its integrity and solidarity, a powerful army is indispensable, he added, lauding the role of security forces in successfully fighting the war against terrorism and foiling enemy plans to destabilise Pakistan GILGIT.
