In a recent panel discussion called We the Ladies, actress Kareena Kapoor Khan said she finds the growing negativity surrounding Bollywood heartbreaking, provided that the industry has fulfilled many aspirations and goals, regardless of context, Indian Express reported.
When asked if the industry paid the price for not taking a stand in the past on itself or on any issue, the Good Newwz star said the hate of Bollywood has risen to a degree that they will be trolled no matter what artists do.
If you say it or not, the market is now being the lowest target. You’ll get brickbats if you say anything. You’ll have that too, if you don’t. It’s normal if actors don’t want to speak out because look at the sort of trolling that happens and for no reason,’ she added.
They propagate hate and negativity in the film industry. In order to entertain our fans, we are here. Karpoor said, “We are not here to spread hate and negativity.”
In addition, the actress said that she is troubled by the attempts made to malign the business. I don’t know why this view of the film business now remains. It’s heartbreaking and that isn’t how it is. So many visions have been formed here. Look at the kind of people who came and built their homes, their dreams and their legacies here.
They were nobodies when it came to Prithviraj Kapoor or Raj Kapoor. They created their whole legacy here out of a simple family in Lahore. We came from everywhere as well and did this. Dreams are achieved here.
Why are we trying to get the industry, the stars, the producers and the filmmakers down? It’s like this or like that to say so-and-so. About why? This must end, I guess. To talk about it to fuel it. People only comment without knowing what a single entity is going through,’ she said.
