Part of a hotel fell down in the Chinese city of Suzhou eliminating 8 people and rescue employees were looking on Tuesday for 9 individuals missing in the damages, state media reported.
The collapse of part of the Siji Kaiyuan Resort in the coastal city took place on Monday mid-day. The Ministry of Emergency Monitoring sent a group to help with the rescue work, media reported.
The cause of the collapse was under investigation, the Xinhua news agency reported. It published photos of rescue workers combing via debris in the search for survivors.
The Siji Kaiyuan is a budget plan hotel that opened in 2018. The component that collapsed was three storeys tall while an on-line reservation site claimed the resort had 54 areas.
