Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh took part in Saturday’s farmers’ protests on the Delhi border and urged the government to fulfil their demands, the Hindustan Times reported. He is also said to have donated Rs 1 crore to buy the demonstrators warm clothing.
At one point, Dosanjh was also heard addressing the crowd. Hats off to all of you growers, a new legacy has been built by you. It will narrate this past to future generations. The concerns of farmers should not be distracted by anyone,” he was quoted as saying.

He said, “We only have one request from the centre…” Please meet our farmers’ demands. Everyone sits quietly here and the whole nation is with the farmers. This restlessness is about producers. On Twitter, things are skewed, but the fact is that farmers protest peacefully, nobody here talks of bloodshed.
In a video posted on his verified Instagram account, Punjabi singer Singga announced that Diljit had donated Rs 1 crore towards the cause, without making a big deal out of it. Singga said in Punjabi, expressing his appreciation, “Thank you brother, you gave Rs 1 crore to the farmers for their warm clothes, and nobody knows.” You have not posted about it. Nowadays after donating Rs 10, people cannot shut up.
Dosanjh has been a vocal supporter of the farmers who are protesting to get some farm laws revoked and are now negotiating with the Centre. Dosanjh recently called Kangana Ranaut for mistaking an elderly Sikh woman who had joined the farmers’ protest of Shaheen Bagh fame for Bilkis Bano.
A video of the elderly lady in question was also posted, confirming that she was Mahinder Kaur. Ranaut soon deleted her post, but did not refrain from hitting back, naming Karan Johar’s pet, the Udta Punjab star.

The same grandma was seen protesting with the fishermen, Karan Johar’s pet, the grandma who protested for her citizenship in Shaheen Bagh, the same grandma. I don’t even know who Mahinder Kaur is. What’s this drama? Stop this right now, she tweeted.
