KARACHI: The new domestic season has passed the half-way point, but under new contracts that started three months earlier, the participating players who signed contracts with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) are still awaiting their monthly payments.
On condition of anonymity, a number of players in regional outfits revealed to this correspondent that they had not been paid even once after the new contracts had been signed before the new first class season, which started in the last week of October of this year.
The PCB confirmed the 2020-21 contracts for 192 domestic players on Sept 28.
Although noting the pause in compensation to the clubs, a PCB official guaranteed that this week the payment process will be completed.
