QUETTA: On Wednesday, the Election Committee of Pakistan (ECP) began issuing nomination papers for the Senate elections with an order that prospective candidates could not spend more than Rs1.5 million on campaigning.
In a statement issued here, the Pakistan Election Commission stated that the election schedule would be announced by Balochistan’s Election Commissioner on Feb 11.
The statement further stated that, from 9 am to 5 pm, interested candidates could collect nomination papers from the secretary of the election commission and provincial offices.

When submitting nomination papers, all political parties and candidates were asked to attach their party tickets.
Furthermore, the statement said that candidates were not permitted to use any bank account, except one, and Rs1.5 million could be deposited in that account and later spent on campaigning.
