PTI leader Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Monday downplayed being rejected access to the Punjab Assembly for the oathtaking ceremony of PTI MPA Ahsan Saleem Baryar.

Videos circulating on social media sites revealed Awan being stopped by security employees at the entry of the provincial legislature. The authorities revealed her a list of visitors who were enabled Baryar’s oathtaking ceremony, from which her own name had been struck off, after which she left the facilities.

Speaking with the media outside the rural legislature, she said she was late to the oathtaking event as well as the session had already finished, as a result “there was no requirement for me to go there. That is why I really felt appropriate to not go to the setting up so there is absolutely nothing similar to this that anybody targeted me as well as stopped me from going inside”.

She claimed the PML-Q was an ally of the PTI and also the audio speaker of the Punjab Setting Up, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, had the right to permit or reject entrance as the custodian. “Whatever problems of our Residence exist, we will certainly resolve them among ourselves,” she said.
