She told the opposition, “The PDM should come into the ring next time after proper warm-up [exercise].”
She said Imran Khan “knocked out” Nawaz Sharif in politics with a “legal blow” using boxing jargon. And now he [Nawaz] is dreaming about pizza on Oxford Street after he’s been knocked out, a nod to a recent photo of the former prime minister getting a pizza in London.
She told a questioner that the PTI government was negotiating with the UK authorities in order to get “political absconders” back to the country.
She said the government had played half its innings and now in the next half it was going to play good political shots.
Dr. Awan said the decision to hold Senate elections by showing his hands was “Imran Khan’s first sixer, surprising the opposition that could not understand his “political bowling policy. She shared her hope that in the Senate elections, the PTI government would gain a majority.
Dr Awan said she was happy for a boxing match with PML-Maryam N’s Nawaz in response to a light statement made by Pakistan-origin boxer Amir Khan.
She said that the great sons of the earth were Amir Khan and Muhammad Waseem, who played a great role in projecting a soft picture of Pakistan across the globe.
She said that the players had provided invaluable contributions to the image creation of the country compared to Pakistani politicians.
Dr. Awan said that young people made up a large part of the population of the country and it was important to use their ability in a positive manner for the country’s growth.
She said the government of Punjab provided all-out support for the creation of the province’s sports facilities, as these were important for the development of the mental strength and physical health of the youth.
She said the Punjab government had formulated a comprehensive sports policy that would provide equal opportunities for sportsmen, especially from rural areas, to excel in the sector.
