The ‘Roshan Digital Account’ was unveiled by Prime Minister Imran on September 10, an initiative aimed at promoting the undertaking of funds transfers, bill payments and investment activities in the country by millions of overseas Pakistanis.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the Pakistani diaspora is the greatest asset of the world, but they are also treated with scepticism.
“They are our best brains. Many even say they cannot become ministers or cabinet members. We need to change this attitude.”
The premier said that often “we lack expertise within the country and therefore require the services of overseas Pakistanis”
The Roshan Digital Account, along with eight other commercial banks operating in the region, is a big initiative by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
