DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Vice-Chancellor of the Gomal College Prof Iftikhar Ahmed on Friday resigned from his office over differences with the government over the establishment of a farming college in Dera Ismail Khan.
Prof Iftikhar, that was selected to the blog post a year ago, sent the letter of resignation to the college division.
He is understood to disturb at the government’s choice to update the division of farming to a farming college without consulting him in ‘offense of the law’.
A couple of days back, Prof Iftikhar created a letter to the head of state seeking his treatment on the issue firmly insisting that the federal government’s effort will certainly develop issues for the university.
On March 19, the college division sought a description from him in creating within 10 days for directly writing to the head of state Prof Iftikhar responded with a three-page explanation together with a letter of resignation.
