LAHORE: Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has proposed holding talks with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) of the opposition, and hopes that next month the political situation will change.
“Inflation and unemployment are the real issues facing the masses, and we are ready to sit down with the opposition on a priority basis to solve these issues,” he said while speaking to the media at the final polo championship match here on Sunday.

Responding to a comment, he said that both the government and the opposition would have to come to the negotiation table to address the crises facing the country.
He told a questioner that whether the PDM would tender resignations from the assemblies or hold the long march suggested, he did not understand.
He said it appeared like the opposition parties lacked unanimous opinions on tendering resignations, but he hoped that next month the political scene would change as the opposition would realise the value of the talks.
