Middle-order batsman Haris Sohail has been ruled out of the England excursion because of a hamstring injury, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Thursday.
In a statement, the cricket board said that an MRI carried out on Wednesday showed a “quality 3 tear injury” which Haris had received throughout a training session in Derby last week.
“The PCB medical panel has encouraged the left-handed middle-order batsman to undertake a four-week rehabilitation program before a review is performed,” it added.
Haris, that was selected for the ODIs only, will go back to Pakistan to go through the recovery program at the National High Performance Centre in Lahore.
Discussing the advancement, Haris said he had been eagerly anticipating the ODIs in order to seal his placement in the side.
