On Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan opted to click unfollow on the 19 Twitter handles on the micro-blogging site on his official account. The last account that the premier had agreed to unfollow before this wipe out was of journalist Hamid Mir, with speculation widespread among netizens that the decision was made in the midst of rising anchor criticism of the government.
The other managers followed by PM Imran include organisations such as Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Shaukat Khanum and Namal Institute Mianwali, which he heads himself.

International Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood and Human Rights Minister Shireen Mazari, as well as Asad Umar, Jahangir Khan Tareen and Naeem-ul-Haque were also accompanied by fellow party leaders.
On Twitter, PM Imran has close to 12.9 million followers, with the most on the micro-blogging platform for a Pakistani.
