India sabotaging CPEC, supporting terrorism in Pakistan: FM Qureshi and DG ISPR

In a joint media conference on Saturday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar categorically claimed that India is sabotaging the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and is funding terrorism in Pakistan.

Terrorism:

“Today we have irrefutable evidence which, through this dossier, we will present to the nation and the international community terrorism.”

A dossier outlining India’s role in terror attacks in Pakistan during the media conference was provided by the country’s top diplomat and military spokesman. During the media briefing, several video clips and audio clips, along with documents, were provided by Indian handlers and terrorists engaging with each other and Indian intelligence handlers sending orders to terrorists in Pakistan.

“You will see a trend of constant breaches of the truce,” the foreign minister said, adding that there are several specifics in the dossier and some of them will be included at the “time of need.”

He said that while Pakistan was battling terrorism on its soil, India was using its soil “in a web of terrorism” to engulf Pakistan. “Pakistan’s progress against terrorism cannot be tolerated by India.”

In recent months, the foreign minister said, India has tried its best to fan extremism through Pakistan. “Indian intelligence services today fund militant organisations that Pakistan has destroyed and banned.”

He added that the nation has details and facts of the promotion of terrorism by India in Pakistan and has established a strategy to destabilise Pakistan.”

The first goal is to undermine Pakistan’s road to reconciliation and to encourage sub-nationalism in Gilgit-Baltistan, formerly Fata, and Balochistan.

The second goal is to undermine Pakistan’s economy, the country’s top diplomat said and India is attempting to sow instability in the country to restrict Pakistan from achieving a stable economy.

Qureshi said The third goal is to establish political instability in Pakistan.”

He further elaborated that for the reason, New Delhi dispersed Rs22 billion.

Qureshi cautioned that there will be an upsurge in terrorist attacks in Pakistan in the coming months and the priority will be on the country’s main urban centres. ‘We have irrefutable evidence,’ the foreign minister said.

The Foreign Minister said, referring to the dossier, that it indicates the strong strengthening of the nexus between India and terrorist organisations. India is sabotaging CPEC because they know that the success of the project will be an economic game changer for Pakistan.

He further claimed that with the primary purpose of undermining CPEC programmes, New Delhi had set up a cell in their intelligence department. “The cell functions under the Indian prime minister’s oversight and its mandate is to obstruct CPEC projects. For this reason, a total of Rs80bn has been allocated.”

“There are also rumours that to target CPEC projects, India has set up a 700-strong militia.” Qureshi further claimed that the country is prepared and has set up and mobilised two security divisions to safeguard the projects and the workers working on them.

“Recently, two Indian intelligence agencies operatives have moved 30 Indian Daesh militants from India to separate camps along the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier. Such militants were handed over to Daesh Commander Shiekh Abdul Rahim alias Abdul Rehman Muslim Dost.”

He selected two Indian intelligence agencies, RAW and DIA, to support, train and shelter terrorists. “State terrorism and anarchy in Pakistan is the target.”
