The cell phone of Supreme Court Justice Qazi Faez Isa was hacked, the Public Relations Office of the Apex Court said on Tuesday.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s mobile phone has been compromised and there is a suspicion that mistaken contact can be made to someone with ulterior motives from his lordship’s number,”The cell phone of Justice Qazi Faez Isa has been hacked and there is suspicion that misguiding communication can be made from his lordship’s number to anyone with ulterior motives,”

The correspondence supposedly made from [Justice Isa’s] mobile phone, which was not sent by his lordship, would then be treated as fraudulent and false,”Therefore, the communication purportedly made from [Justice Isa’s] cell phone, which his lordship had not sent, may be treated as fake and false,”
For over 27 years, Justice Isa has practised law before Pakistan’s high courts, the Federal Shariat Court and the Supreme Court. He also became a member of the Assembly of the Balochistan High Court Bar, the Sindh High Court Bar Association, and a life member of Pakistan’s Supreme Court Bar Association.
On September 5, 2014, he took the oath as a judge of the Supreme Court and is set to become Chief Justice for 13 months on September 18, 2023.
Justice Isa, known to consider every term twice in his decisions, has played an instrumental role in the judicial landscape of Pakistan.
He was also the subject of a presidential reference claiming that between 2011 and 2015 he had purchased three properties on lease in London on behalf of his wife and children, but did not report them in his wealth returns. Justice Isa disputed the claim, claiming that, either directly or indirectly, he was not a beneficial owner of the flats.
The Supreme Court threw out the reference in June 2020, calling it “invalid”
‘[The reference] is found to have no legitimate effect whatsoever and is quashed,’ read the plurality (9-1) brief decision on a petition lodged by Justice Isa and others demanding dismissal of the reference.
