LAHORE: PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz will meet Balochistan’s Hazara group on Thursday and ask her to bury the coal miners who were killed in a violent raid.
I am going to my sisters and brothers (in Balochistan) on the way to Nawaz Sharif, with a prayer to hand over their dead to Allah Almighty. They would not refuse my submission, I am sure. “The Hazara community has been calling the heartless in Islamabad for the past four days,” she said in a Wednesday tweet.

She asked the mourners not to wait for “the heartless and insensitive man” (Imran Khan) and called on them to bury their dead. “May Allah in the hereafter elevate their ranks and grant you patience.”
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan urged protesting members of Balochistan’s Shia Hazara group to bury the bodies of miners killed in a violent attack in Mach, pledging “very soon” to visit them.
Armed assailants cut the throats of 11 miners on Sunday in a residential compound near a mine site in the Mach coalfield district of Balochistan, filming the entire incident and later uploading it online. The jihadist Islamic State group announced the horrific attack.
Since then, in the western bypass area of Quetta, thousands of Hazaras have mounted a protest along with coffins containing the miners’ corpses, while members of their group have also organised protests across the country.

The protestors have said they will not bury the bodies of the miners until they are confronted by Prime Minister Imran and brought to justice by the murderers, extending their rally for a fourth straight day on Wednesday.
