Milk being sold at Rs140 kg in Karachi: Extra commissioner Karachi on Friday confessed prior to the Sindh High Court (SHC) that milk is being cost Rs140/kg in the city, ARY News reported.
The Sindh High Court heard the instance related to the sale of fresh milk at exorbitant costs in the port city.
At the outset of the hearing, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar asked about the federal government rate of fresh milk in the city. The federal government rate of per kg milk is Rs94, the extra commissioner replied.
Justice Mazhar stated why the administration has actually stopped working in imposing the government price of milk in the city.
The extra commissioner stated the Dairy Farms Association hesitates to market milk at their preferred rates as well as not following the orders of the administration, we have fined more than 340 milk sellers over violation and the raids are still underway, he added.
