Monkeys escape German zoo for a day: BERLIN: Regarding two dozen apes broke out of a southwestern German zoo and invested the day lolling in the sun near a woodland before being recaptured, authorities claimed Thursday.
The Barbary macaques, typically called Barbary apes, ran away from the zoo in Loeffingen, southwest of Stuttgart and not far from the Swiss boundary. It was not completely clear how they got away, however building work at the zoo may have been an aspect, cops stated.
The primates were discovered wandering the location in a pack, however zoo staff members were incapable to regain them and also eventually lost track of them. A couple of hours later on they were identified, regained and returned to their cages without incident, police said.
