MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President Sardar Masood Khan on Sunday reported that New Delhi had been revealed to the international community by India’s bare violence along the Line of Control (LoC) and participation in terrorist activities within Pakistan.
“The international community now assumes that India is a terrorist state bent on undermining the stability and security of not only the country of South Asia, but also of the entire world,” he said LoC.
The president talked to the media along with Shehryar Afridi, chairman of the Kashmir Committee at Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahayan Hospital, where they came to ask about the under-treatment victims of the ruthless Indian shelling on Friday.
Mr Khan said that in the midst of the worst human rights abuses committed by the Indian army in occupied Kashmir, India was attacking defenceless civilians to distract international attention from the stiff resistance provided by the unarmed Kashmiris.
India must understand, he emphasised, that its cowardly conduct will neither stop the Kashmiris from continuing the fight for independence nor deter the citizens of the AJK from raising their voices against repression in the occupied territories.
After conclusive evidence of its complicity in terrorist activity in Balochistan and other areas of Pakistan was released, the president of the AJK called on the United Nations to take stern action against India.
“India transfers and implants agents of the extremist Islamic State group in Pakistan, and the UN Security Council Committee should consider steps such as asset freezing, travel bans and weapons embargoes in compliance with Resolutions 1967, 1989 and 2253,” he requested.
Though paying tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces and over 600,000 civilians living along the LoC for bravely facing the Indian shelling, Mr. Khan said that in this tough hour, neither the armed forces nor the AJK government would leave them alone.
He argued that the building of bunkers along the LoC was being accelerated and compensation for the damages in Indian shelling was being paid. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Afridi said that the war madness of India’s fanatical rulers, apart from the citizens of the rest of the country, had plunged even India’s own populace into serious danger.
“Their war hysteria negates the arguments of Narendra Modi regarding India rising and glowing,” he said.
In the meantime, AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider visited the wounded people at the hospital and issued reward money cheques to them.
