LAHORE: The cross-examination of two of singer Meesha Shafi’s witnesses may not have taken place on Saturday, as the defamation suit brought against her by singer-actor Ali Zafar was moved to a new Judge court.
Additional District and Sessions Judges Yasar Hayat stated, however that the district and session judge referred the case to the court of AD&SJ Imtiaz Ahmad. Actor Iffat Omar and Syed Farhan Ali were present in the court for their cross-examination.
The judge ordered the parties and their lawyers to appear for further hearings in the case before the transferee judge on 16 Nov.
An official claimed that due to an administrative task provided to him by the authority, Additional District and Sessions Judges Hayat was unable to proceed with the suit.
