RAWALPINDI: General Qamar Jawed Bajwa, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), said on Thursday that the people of Kashmir and the country deserve peace.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release, the COAS made these remarks when addressing the Lah-ore Garrison officers.

The Army Chief’s speech concentrated on professional concerns, the country’s internal and external security situation, and his idea of a permanent peace in Pakistan and the region.
He told the officials of recent developments on the eastern frontier, the situation in the illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir, and the strong commitment of Pakistan to a reasonable resolution of the Kashmir question in accordance with the expectations of the people of Kashmir.

In the face of modern hybrid war threats, Gen Bajwa stressed greater caution and preparedness.
The COAS was received by Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Muhammad Abdul Aziz prior to his arrival in Lahore.
