CHITRAL: In reaction against the ‘picking’ of the president and general secretary by the divisional head of the party, five newly-elected office-bearers of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Lower Insaf’s Chitral youth wing resigned.
Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, Ziaur Rehman, Nazir Ahmed Chitrali, Abuzar Ghaffari, Salah Jani and others said that, considering the fact that they had not yet submitted nomination papers, the Divisional President had named the two men to key positions.
They said the party workers were dejected by the shift in the outcome of the referendum. They added that in a government primary school, one of the office-bearers appointed by the divisional president was as a chowkidar.
They threatened that the next course of action would take place if the contentious decision was not rescinded within 10 days.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, in front of the Tehsil headquarters hospital, the residents of Drosh town held a protest demonstration to demand the appointment of lady doctors to the health facility.
The protestors disciplined the PTI government for failing to fill the four empty positions of lady doctors for the last four years.
They said they had posted two lady doctors six months earlier, but they had not yet joined the duty. If the positions were not filled within a week, they warned of holding further demonstrations.
