KARACHI: On Saturday, a local court remanded a seminary teacher in the care of the Federal Prosecution Agency in a child pornography case.
On Friday, the FIA claimed to have detained a religious teacher for allegations of child pornography and an underage girl being abused.
On Saturday, the investigating officer took the suspect before the appropriate judicial magistrate to demand his physical remand for questioning and examination in police custody.
The IO reported that the Cyber Crime Circle of the FIA arrested the perpetrator in Gulshan-i-Iqbal on a woman’s report.
She had recruited a qari (religious teacher) for home tuition to teach her kids, according to the complainant.
Later, her 13-year-old daughter complained that the qari had physically assaulted her, the IO added, adding that the teenage girl also complained that the defendant also supposedly took her lewd pictures and he was attempting to stalk and blackmail her on the basis of them, demanding ransom.
The IO recorded that a cell phone was seized from the suspect’s possession and sent to a forensic examination laboratory and lewd photos of the victim/minor girl were discovered on the unit.
He demanded that the suspect in FIA custody be physically remanded for 14 days for questioning and conclusion of the investigation.
