You’d think that revered director Sanjay Leela Bhansali will take a break after a superhit like Padmavat, but the guy is already on his next project of passion.
The Ram-Leela director is all geared up for his next one, named Heera Mandi, to discover the underground culture of the red light district in the walled city of Lahore.

Make no mistake, although the project has a similar theme, it varies from his upcoming film, Gangubai Kathiawadi, which traces the storey of a woman living in a brothel of the same name in Kamathipura.
Vibhu Puri, Bhansali’s former assistant, has been roped in for this one, however, for guidance.
Although no date has been revealed as to when the shoot will begin, there have been rounds of casting news already.
A report suggested, “Bhansali is personally overlooking the casting for the project.” “Although Heera Mandi will be officially directed by his former assistant, Vibhu, SLB’s stamp will be evident in every frame.”

While Alia Bhatt could be defined as one lead, reports say that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, Deepika Padukone, Parineeti Chopra, Manisha Koirala or Vidya Balan could be others on the verge of confirmation.
It is still uncertain if the new project will be a brief web series or a film, scheduled to premiere digitally on Netflix. We can’t wait to see what’s in store either way.
