Actor Simi Raheal is the new veteran to condemn the handling of senior artists by the Pakistan Television Network (PTV). The actor recently shared a photo of PTV giving a cheque worth Rs 1400 to her. Raheal found the move disgraceful on the part of PTV.
“A PTV cheque dated November 2020 disgraceful and insulting. Sad to see this is how artists are honoured by the state!!! This is the acknowledgement of Pakistan Television after four decades this was truly appalling!!” Raheal wrote alongside in the caption.
Actor Rashid Mahmood lashed out on social media against Pakistan Television (PTV) back in September over unequal pay for his role.
Mehmood posted a picture of a cheque given to him by PTV for services provided in a Twitter post that amounted to only Rs 650, noting that he was puzzled by the incredibly low number, especially because he was the recipient of the Pride of Success Award.
Hey. Hi. I got this PTV cheque and I can’t grasp it. Complete volume of Rs 620. Fee for Pride in Success. Rs five hundred. Job bill, Rs 120/- only. What are the conditions for paying a success winner’s pride in this nation and who spends 50 years of life on PTV? And he said.
The matter was settled between Mehmood and PTV later on.
