MANSEHRA/SHANGLA: Heavy snowfall on Saturday in the upper parts of the Hazara and Shangla divisions blocked highways, including the Karakoram Highway.
Though snow dropped in the upper reaches of the districts of Mansehra, Torghar, Upper and Lower Kohistan and Kolai-Palas, rain continued to lash the plains during Saturday, beginning on Friday evening.
After snowfall turned the strategically critical artery muddy, the KKH was blocked in the Sharkool and Chaterplan areas for over two hours.

In the Mansehra district of the Kaghan, Siren and Konsh valleys and the Kandia and Spat valleys in Upper Kohistan, snowfall blocked several linking routes.
Due to snowfall, the road connecting the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road with the Shogran tourist hub was also closed.
The Jabori-Nawaz Abad Road in the Siren valley was blocked by snowfall and landslides.
Meanwhile the upper parts of the Shangla district were blanketed by strong snowfall, while rain lashed the plains on Saturday.
On Saturday, the new snowfall spell, beginning on Friday night, continued covering the Shangla Peak, Yakhtangay, Ajmeer, Kapar Banda, Bahadar Sar, Pir Abad, Jaba, Lilonai, Kandaw and other white sheet regions.
The heavy snowfall blocked the main Yakhtangay-Puran Road and linked roads in the areas of Kandaw and Martung Chakesar, causing commuters to have problems.

It received rain from Bisham, Alpuri, Puran, Chakesar, Shahpur, Karora and other regions. The supply of electricity to some areas remained suspended as well.
