SWABI: An Indian hacker has infiltrated the official website of the University of Swabi, said a varsity official here on Saturday.
The official, speaking to Dawn, said it was the second time the varsity’s website had been compromised in a week by the same hacker.
“The hacker’s goal is not known, but the varsity management had contacted the company with which it had the agreement after the earlier hack, and the website was restored after a few days,” said Numan Khan, a spokesman for the university.

He said they had once again protested to the company’s authorities, anticipating that the website would be restored within 48 hours.
Other officials said they had currently severed all connections via the website and the institution was not in a position to pass on critical messages to the faculty and students.
They said the university should find a lasting solution to the dilemma because it has been consistently producing a troubled situation for management and students.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, a district jirga settled a three-year-old blood feud between two Gul Bahadur and Abid-ur-Rehman-led families.

There was a conflict between families over a land dispute in the village of Baja, in which one member of the Abid family was killed and five others were wounded.
The case is pending in the Peshawar High Court after being considered by a district court.
With the joint agreement of the families, however, jirga members called the jirga and got them to reconcile.
