In the remaining duration of its five-year term, the PTI government must take its governance performance to even higher standards, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Tuesday, telling his ministers that “the time for performance has arrived.”
He was addressing a special ceremony in Islamabad to sign the ‘Federal Government Success Agreements for the Year 2020-21’ attended by ministers and special assistants to the prime minister.
Federal ministers from separate ministries have negotiated output arrangements with the prime minister, according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
In our remaining two-and-a-quarter years, we will put pressure on ourselves to take our success in governance to even higher levels,” the premier said.
We no longer have an argument because we are young and are learning when, for the first time, most of us come to power. The success time has come,’ he said.

Terminating the signing of “a step in the right direction” performance agreements, Prime Minister Imran said each ministry’s performance would be measured on the basis of the contracts and each ministry will place pressure on itself to achieve its objectives.
“After all, the public has to decide after five years whether we made their lives better or not; whether we fulfilled the promises made to them or not,” he said, adding that until all ministries worked separately, governance could not be delivered.
