ISLAMABAD: Top seed Tayyab Aslam defeated Noor Zaman in straight but well-challenged three sets here at Mushaf Squash Complex on Tuesday in his opening meeting of the Pakistan International Squash Tournament.
Tayyab, who had advanced directly on the basis of his ranking into the second round, took 25 minutes to defeat his opponent Noor (11-1, 11-9, 11-9). With his pace and precision, he outclassed his opponent in the opening set and didn’t allow him to calm down. He won 11-1 in the first set. Yet Zaman made a strong come-back in the next two sets, but his attempts to win the sets were insufficient.
