Toy cars get eco makeover to inspire children: LONDON: Matchbox is launching a new collection of toy vehicles based upon real-life electric as well as hybrid vehicles, in a proposal to make its miniatures more sustainable and also to raise understanding amongst children of the ecological effect of car.
The initial model off the assembly line is a scaled-down version of the Tesla Roadster, which will certainly be joined by toys based on cars and trucks made by Nissan, Toyota and BMW. Electric charging stations will also go on sale this year.

She added that it would be the first die-cast model constructed from 99% recycled materials.
” We wished to work with Tesla to inspire children as the future motorists of tomorrow. We think their moms and dads will certainly like to see how their children play with cars and trucks that encourage ecological awareness, like electric cars.”
The launch becomes part of an overhaul in Britain as well as Europe at Matchbox, which is possessed by plaything maker Mattel.
The Matchbox brand name was created almost 70 years earlier as well as markets more than 40 million die-cast vehicles each year.
