The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Saturday notified a fresh list of countries categorised into A, B and C after emergence of South African and Brazilian strain of virus and imposed a complete ban on travel from 12 countries. — APP/File

RAWALPINDI: In an effort to curb the spike of coronavirus cases in Pakistan, the Civil Air Travel Authority (CAA) on Saturday alerted a fresh listing of countries categorised into A, B and C after appearance of South African as well as Brazilian pressure of virus and imposed a total restriction on travel from 12 nations.

The traveling limitations as well as a ban on incoming passengers from 12 countries, categorised as C, will stay reliable from March 23 to April 5.

The CAA claimed in an alert: “Communicated by NCOC, there will certainly be a full travel restriction on incoming traveling to Pakistan from group C nations, consisting of withdrawal of exemptions previously provided to Pakistani passport holders, NICOP owners and also POC owners. The short-term action is being presented in extension to the steps being taken to curb the spread of Covid-19 in Pakistan.”

The CAA has updated its classification C, for incoming travellers and changed the UK from category C to classification B, a representative for the Air travel Division said.

Supervisor Air Transportation as well as Economic Regulations of the CAA Irfan Sabir released a notification about the changed list of nations.

The alert said that traveling constraints on incoming traveling to Pakistan from group C nations communicated earlier on January 29 will certainly additionally continue to continue to be reliable until April 5.

The CAA claimed the worldwide visitors from classification A nations do not require Covid-19 PCR (polymerase chain reaction) test prior to entry into Pakistan.

Australia, Bhutan, China, Fiji, Japan, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Mauritania, Morocco, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Trinidad & Tobago and Vietnam have actually been put in group A.

Botswana, Brazil, Columbia, Comoros, Ghana, Kenya, Mozambique, Peru, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania and also Zambia have been put in group C.

The international tourists from nations not defined in group A call for Covid-19 examination before beginning of traveling to Pakistan.

The notification stated all nations which are not defined in An and C fall in group B.

The global traveling to Pakistan from category C countries is restricted and also just allowed as per guidelines of the National Command and also Procedure Centre.
