Bollywood heartthrob Varun Dhawan finally tied the knot with his childhood fashion designer sweetheart Natasha Dalal at The Mansion House Resort in Alibaug, India on Sunday. In the presence of relatives and close friends, according to PTI, the couple got married as per Hindu rites. An source clarified that the wedding was initially scheduled for May 2020, but was postponed to 2021 because of Covid-19.
Pinkvilla announced that Dhawan and Dalal’s nuptials took place early in the afternoon, at about 12:30 pm. The bride arrived first for her chura and kaleere ceremony at the mandap.
Chura is a collection of traditional red bangles that her maternal uncle gives to the bride. The bride is not permitted to see this ceremony, so her eyes are closed as the bangles are touched turn by turn by her family members to give their blessings. This is followed by the rest of the relatives tying their churas to the kaleere.
When they were in college, the long-time couple first crossed paths but began dating years later. During the early years of Dhawan’s career, they mostly avoided talking about the relationship in the newspapers, even though they frequently clicked together.
The No. 1 star Coolie made sure that the wedding remained a guarded affair. Pick industry insiders such as Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra and many others joined him. To congratulate the newlyweds, those who were not invited or couldn’t make it to the event took to the social media. The actor was invited to the “married” club by married Bollywood stars including Preity Zinta and Neha Dhupia.
