KARACHI: The world’s biggest freight aircraft, known as Antonov An-225 Mriya, made a technical stop at Karachi airport on Wednesday.
The Russian-made wide-body airplane, which is powered by six turbofan engines and also said to be the longest and heaviest plane ever before constructed, removed from Afghanistan and also landed at Jinnah International Airport a little prior to noon.
With maximum liftoff weight of 700 tonnes, it has the biggest wingspan of any kind of airplane in operational solution.
Airport terminal resources said the aircraft was arranged to leave Karachi in the very early hrs of Thursday morning. They stated the aircraft contained army freight that was being moved from Afghanistan as part of withdrawal plan of the US and also allied forces from the war-torn nation.
